DataCert was founded in 1998 by pioneers in the electronic invoicing industry who created a process for corporate law departments to take control of legal spend by managing invoices, invoice data and law firm relationships. Our leadership in the legal industry is guided by our senior management team who were members of the LEDES™ (Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard) Oversight Committee. This organization established the standards used by the legal industry for the electronic exchange of information. DataCert's pioneers also helped define the Uniform Task Based Management System (UTBMS) code sets and continue to set the course for electronic invoicing and legal spend management solutions.

In May of 2007, DataCert surged into the field of matter management technology with the acquisition of industry leader Corprasoft, Inc. Corporate law departments now can choose the flexibility of an unified solution while benefiting from a combined base of expertise in both legal spend and matter management best practices.

The DataCert solution for controlling legal spend is different in two ways from most other e-invoicing vendors. First, all of your invoice data resides behind your firewall and is controlled by your corporate security measures. The data is accessible only by those who can log onto your network, and then only by those who have been granted specific permissions. Secondly, firms can't send you invoices and you can't receive them without presentation of a unique electronic credential that DataCert manages and reissues annually.
