Chris Fields
Chief Technology Officer
Chris Fields, DataCert’s chief technology officer, brings extensive experience in software development and technical leadership to the company.
As CTO, he is responsible for the overall technical architecture of the company’s products and services. He also provides cross-functional direction and leadership for research and development initiatives and product development.
Fields joined DataCert in 2001 and quickly rose to the position of chief architect. During this time, he was a key driver for the company’s adoption of Agile development practices and used his unique abilities to provide important product infrastructure improvements in security and performance.
An entrepreneur at heart, Fields co-founded DigiContract in 1999 and created a dynamic software application that allowed for online document collaboration. The company was acquired by DataCert in 2001.
Prior to DigiContract, he worked in the oil and gas industry developing supervisory control and data acquisition systems. He holds two patents in efficiency for maximizing well production.
Fields attended Baylor University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
