Jim Witherington is a founder and managing partner of SSM Partners, a private equity firm focused on investing in high-growth companies. He joined SSM Partners in 1973 on its formation as a financial advisory firm. With experience across a broad array of industries, he has served as an advisor and confidant to the chief executive officers of hundreds of market-leading companies.

Witherington received a bachelor's degree in economics from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. In addition to DataCert's board of directors, he also serves on the boards of Connecture, Plan Express and Servigistics.
