D. Mark Poag, DataCert's general counsel and senior vice president of marketing, joined the company following its acquisition of DigiContract in 2001 and brought with him a history of proven legal and business expertise.

Poag is responsible for all legal and human resources operations and he directs the company's marketing and product management operations.

Prior to joining DataCert, he served as president and CEO of DigiContract, an online document collaboration provider which he co-founded in 1999. His duties included raising equity funding, recruiting employees and directing business development efforts.

In 2006, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Houston Business Journal recognized Poag's achievement in the field of corporate law by naming him the 2006 Outstanding Solo Corporate Counsel.

Poag earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and graduated cum laude from Tulane University School of Law with a juris doctorate. He graduated magna cum laude from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University where he received his MBA.
