DataCert Enables Easy Budget Collaboration Between Corporate Legal Departments and Outside Counsel

New AIMS Feature Supports the Growing Practice of Cost-Conscious Matter Budgeting

HOUSTON, Nov. 13, 2008 - DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of legal operations management solutions, today announced the release of budget collaboration capabilities for its legal spend management software, Advanced Invoice Management System (AIMS).

Using the budget collaboration feature, corporate legal departments can enhance communications with their outside counsel, streamline the budget request process and measure law firm performance.

"The budgeting process between corporate legal departments and law firms is often a very complicated process due to matter life spans, changing strategies and rising costs," stated Don Schad, senior vice president, customer operations, DataCert. "AIMS facilitates matter budgeting by reconciling budgets with actual costs and providing technology for the easy exchange of budget updates and information."

The new budget collaboration feature allows law firms to easily respond to their corporate clients' budget requests and eliminates the need to endure time-consuming phone calls or e-mails regarding budget information and updates.

Using AIMS, corporate legal departments can request matter budgets from their outside counsel. The law firm accesses and responds to the request via ShareDoc, DataCert's web-based portal for e-invoice delivery, reporting and budgeting.

With the budget collaboration functionality in AIMS, corporate legal departments also gain better insight into law firm performance. With timely budget information that can be easily updated as a project progresses, in-house counsel can more effectively measure a law firm's performance against budget and avoid surprise variances.

For more information on AIMS, please contact DataCert at 800-780-3681 or e-mail emeasales@datacert.com (international inquiries) or nasales@datacert.com (North American inquiries).
