Datacert partners with TrustWeaver to enable corporate legal departments to achieve compliance with European VAT requirements for their global e-billing initiatives
 HOUSTON, Sept. 17, 2009 - Datacert, Inc., the leading global provider of legal operations management solutions, today announced a new partnership with TrustWeaver, the leading digital signature broker in Europe, making Datacert the first and only legal operations management vendor to provide digital signature support for clients wishing to receive electronic invoices in Europe, enabling them to achieve compliance with local value added tax (VAT) regulations.
Use of digital signatures is the latest enhancement to Datacert's legal spend management solution, which includes comprehensive VAT compliance support that addresses the requirements of all e-billing aspects of the European Union (EU) VAT Directive, including an electronic invoice's content, transmission, and storage/archiving. Datacert is the only provider in the legal operations management market to offer a comprehensive VAT solution for the EU.
Datacert solutions are already certified as complying with the EU's standards for an electronic data interchange (EDI) system. This new digital signature capability provides clients with an additional method for ensuring the authenticity, integrity, and non-repudiation of electronic invoices, as required by European VAT regulations.
