Datacert’s patent-pending technology platform and matter management application provide efficiency gains to the non-profit
HOUSTON – March 1, 2011 – Datacert, Inc., the premier global provider of enterprise legal management solutions, announced today that Passport™, the company’s patent-pending legal technology platform, has been successfully implemented at Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta (PBP-ATL), a non-profit organization that works with in-house and transactional lawyers to provide valuable pro bono services to non-profit agencies in Metropolitan Atlanta. Leveraging Passport and Datacert’s matter management application, which is built on the platform, PBP-ATL is now positioned to bolster employee productivity and operational efficiencies, enabling the organization to manage a greater volume of legal work and expand its client base.
"After completing the on-site training sessions administered by Datacert, the benefits from implementing Passport and Datacert’s matter management application were immediately evident," said Rachel Epps Spears, executive director, PBP-ATL. "Over the past few years the number of organizations requesting our services multiplied, but our staff headcount has remained fixed, making our workload increasingly difficult to manage. Now that Passport has been implemented, we are equipped with the technology tools necessary to simplify processes for our staff and volunteers and deliver more efficient service to our growing client base. As we continue to utilize the system, this will relieve many of our operational pressures and help us increase employee productivity to a level equivalent to adding additional staff."
Traditionally, PBP-ATL managed matters and other legal processes manually. Staff members compiled relevant information and personally sent notifications to the responsible volunteer attorney(s) via email. With more than 1500 lawyers in the volunteer network, this time-consuming and cumbersome process put a significant strain on the organization. Passport enables PBP-ATL to administer and track matters in the platform so advanced reports and matter metrics can be easily compiled and updates and notifications can be quickly disseminated to the expansive network, which includes legal representatives from organizations such as GE Energy, Cox Communications, Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, UPS, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., AT&T, and Delta Airlines.
In addition to efficiency gains, implementing Passport has provided PBP-ATL with enhanced visibility into all legal-related business. The comprehensive view will help the organization’s staff make more strategic and intelligent legal business decisions such as, properly assigning matters to volunteers based on area of expertise and experience.
"Passport’s broad capabilities are a welcomed concept for our organization," said Frank Landgraff, board chair, PBP-ATL and senior counsel, intellectual property, GE Energy. "We can now eliminate many of the time constraints and human errors that occur when manually assigning and managing matters. Passport helps position us to increase our efficiency. I am confident the additional capabilities, such as the ability to expand the platform by integrating and configuring new applications, will benefit Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta, our clients, and our volunteers for years to come."
"From selection to implementation, the Datacert team maintained an unwavering commitment to making the entire transition seamless," said Spears. "They took time to administer on-site training sessions that were informative and helped us uncover additional ways we can utilize Passport to advance the efforts of our organization and the interest of our clients. The training sessions were invaluable and helped reinforce that we aren’t simply getting a new technology system, we are getting a true partner that is committed to our long-term success."
