DataCert Lands Maytag, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company and Union Pacific Railroad to Close Out Year
Web-based Technology to Eliminate Paper-Based Invoicing and Automate Invoice Workflow Within Corporate Legal Departments
HOUSTON, January 7, 2003 -- DataCert, Inc., a leading provider of legal e-billing and cost management services, announced today that Maytag Corporation, Chevron Phillips Company LP, and Union Pacific Railroad Company have chosen the company's web-based electronic billing products and services for their legal invoice processing. All three multi-billion dollar corporations will use the company's technology to securely send and receive legal invoices with their outside law firms. The implementations are expected to be completed by early spring.
DataCert's ShareDoc/LEGALTM service will be deployed at all three corporations to help in-house legal managers more efficiently manage outside legal expenses. The company's web-based automated invoice and workflow tool, AIMSTM, will be integrated at Union Pacific Railroad to provide on-line review, adjustment and approval of electronic invoices with its outside law firms. The integrated solution at Union Pacific Railroad will monitor and track the performance of law firm activities, analyze and capture invoice data, run reports on monthly expenditures, perform validation tests for invoice accuracy and check compliance with its specific business rules (i.e., a law firm charging .15 cents per photocopy instead of .10 cents per photocopy).
"We chose DataCert because their e-billing and cost management products have the functionality we need to make the leap into the electronic arena," commented Mike Hemmer, VP, Law, Union Pacific Railroad. "Their products will help us manage outside counsel expenses and overhaul our existing invoice process without having to build or maintain an expensive infrastructure."
