DataCert Inks Deal with SunTrust Bank

One of the Nation's Largest Commercial Banking Organization to Reap Financial and Operational Savings Using Web-Based E-invoicing Technology

HOUSTON, September 9, 2003 - DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of legal electronic invoicing and spend management services, today announced that Atlanta-based SunTrust Bank has selected the company's web-based legal e-invoicing application to receive its legal invoices from outside law firms. The spend management solution will enable both the corporate legal department and its outside law firms to submit, review and approve legal invoices online. The implementation is scheduled for completion in early October.

According to SunTrust General Counsel Ray Fortin, SunTrust chose DataCert because of the company's track record of successful implementations at Fortune 500 corporations. "DataCert understands legal 'cost management,' particularly the unique billing pains of large companies. Their ShareDoc product will help us better manage outside counsel bills while reducing enormous stacks of paper invoices. They also offer a full-time law firm implementation staff to get our firms up and running as quickly as possible."

SunTrust will deploy DataCert's ShareDoc technology with its outside law firms to streamline the existing manual invoice process. The web-based application will automate the daily activities associated with retaining outside law firms, reviewing matters and analyzing and predicting legal spending with its outside law firms. Using ShareDoc, SunTrust plans to reduce its overall cost of processing invoices and have a more efficient method for capturing law firm expenses. The software will also perform validation checks on invoice data to confirm that all the timekeepers on the bill are authorized at their pre-determined rates.

Today, 49 corporate clients and more than 2,100 law firms subscribe to DataCert's ShareDoc service.
