DataCert Lands Norfolk Southern as Its Newest Customer
Transportation Company Relies on DataCert's Technology to Accelerate Legal Invoice Approval and Payment Process, Manage Outside Counsel Spending and Integrate with Accounts Payable
HOUSTON, October 6, 2003 - DataCert Inc., the leading provider of legal electronic invoicing and spend management services, today announced it has finalized an agreement to provide Norfolk Southern with a comprehensive electronic invoicing solution. The web-based automated solution will enforce Norfolk Southern's billing guidelines for more accurate invoice review, approval and integration with its accounts payable system. The solution will also capture data during invoice analysis and identify spending trends among its outside law firms.
Norfolk Southern's Systems Analyst, Felishia Squires, stressed the importance of the product's functionality and accessibility by both its staff and outside law firms. "Our primary transition to e-invoicing is simple; we want to get a better view of our outside counsel spending and reduce the volume of paper invoices," commented Squires. "Just as important, we want to decrease the time it takes to process an invoice and ensure invoices being processed are presented to the correct individuals within our legal department."
Norfolk Southern will roll out DataCert's ShareDoc® and Automated Invoice Management System (AIMS) to streamline its existing invoice process. The expected completion date for the implementation is late January.
Norfolk Southern is the latest addition to DataCert's existing transportation client base consisting of Union Pacific Railroad, UPS and Waste Management. Currently, more than 40 percent of the Dow Jones Industrials and 94 percent of America's highest grossing law firms use the company's legal e-invoicing and spend management services.
