DataCert Launches Integrated Solution for Electronic Invoicing, Matter Management and Legal Spend Management

Corporate Legal DesktopTM 10 Gives Corporate Law Departments the Power to Simplify Legal Operations Management

HOUSTON, April 16, 2008 – DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of legal and IP spend and matter management solutions, today announced the release of Corporate Legal Desktop 10 (CLD 10), a comprehensive solution that enables in-house lawyers to take control of their legal operations. With CLD 10, corporate legal departments can now manage legal and IP spend while tracking volumes of documents and financial information related to legal matters.

This sophisticated solution combines DataCert’s electronic invoicing and spend management product, Advanced Invoice Management System (AIMS), with the robust functionality of Corprasoft’s1 matter management capabilities. The integrated solution significantly streamlines law department collaboration while reducing the amount of time in-house lawyers spend on administrative tasks.

“Corporate counsel are searching for proven business solutions that can simplify their internal processes and provide long-term spend transparency and trending,” said Don Schad, general manager, corporate legal solutions of DataCert. “DataCert’s CLD 10 is a no-compromise solution. It truly offers corporate law departments the opportunity to implement a best-of-breed application.”

Features

CLD 10’s unified platform means that customers only login once to access matter and spend data, eliminating the need to install, administer and configure separate systems. In addition to the matter management capabilities, including the ability to manage legal department workload and matter status, CLD 10 customers can automate internal invoice workflow, enforce billing guideline compliance and realize spend transparency.  This translates into a substantial return on investment through the identification of billing errors, spend analysis and time management.

Using CLD 10’s new document assembly and import features users can easily import relevant matter information from outside counsel. CLD 10 protects the integrity of in-house data by importing and updating information, thus eliminating the time constraint and human error normally associated with re-keying data. Users have the power to create forms to support the merging of matter management data, including information from form field data completed by outside counsel and other corporate departments.

CLD 10’s robust query and reporting tool quickly searches and gathers information about matters, budgets, invoices, fees and other associated financials. The reporting feature allows users to organize and view information in various formats, whether in tabular, data groups, matrix or pivot table format. Users can create query types based on their own criteria. CLD 10’s security parameters act as a watch dog, blocking users from reporting on information that they are not authorized to access. With the customized reporting, corporate law departments can report on outside activity and fees, timekeeper rates,  matter status, matter activity and overall spend on a year-over-year or specified time basis.

Features of CLD 10 include:

  • Customization – CLD 10’s configuration and customization capabilities allow users to tailor the data they need for each type of matter or practice area, as well as easily maintain and modify the information as business processes change.
  • Security and Installation – CLD 10 is available for installation behind a corporation’s firewall or as a hosted solution. Both installations allow customers to easily configure CLD 10 to meet their business needs.
  • Integration – With more than 130 completed custom integrations, DataCert can easily integrate CLD 10 with multiple in-house legal operational or enterprise systems such as document management, accounts payable or legal applications.
  • Training – Users are invited to take advantage of the new training programs - including end user, administrative and developer training - in order to implement, customize and maintain installation configurations.
