DataCert Releases ShareDoc Reports
Solution Gives Law Firms Critical Visibility into E-Invoice Status and Data
HOUSTON, Oct. 1, 2008 - DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of legal operations management solutions, today announced the availability of ShareDoc Reports. An integral part of legal spend management, ShareDoc Reports enhances in-house counsel and outside counsel relationships by allowing law firms to access real-time status reports on electronic invoices submitted to corporate clients. This data transparency improves billing accuracy while reducing the time corporate legal departments spend fielding queries regarding e-invoice statuses.
Used in conjunction with DataCert's Advanced Invoice Management System (AIMS), ShareDoc Reports gives corporate legal departments and law firms the ability to share information in an efficient and secure manner.
"For more than a decade, law firms have relied on DataCert's web-based ShareDoc to quickly and securely deliver electronic invoices to their corporate clients," said Don Schad, general manager of corporate legal solutions, DataCert. "The reporting now available with this same system facilitates an even more fluid e-invoicing experience for both law firms and corporate legal departments."
ShareDoc Reports offers five standard reports, each of which can be sorted, searched and exported into Excel format. The reports include:
- Pending Invoices - With this report, law firms can easily identify which e-invoices are still pending approval, where they are in the approval process and who the client contact is for each e-invoice.
- Completed Invoices - Law firms can compile detailed reports concerning which e-invoices have completed the approval process. Information on e-invoice charge adjustments are displayed in this report, allowing law firms to quickly identify and understand any adjustments made by in-house counsel.
- Rejected Invoices - Corporate legal departments may reject invoices for a variety of reasons ranging from incorrect timekeeper or matter information to charges not in compliance with outside counsel billing guidelines. The rejected invoice report supplies law firms with data on which invoices have been rejected and the reasons for rejection.
- Current Timekeeper - Keeping a law firm's timekeeper names, classifications and billing rates current with corporate clients is often a challenging task. Using ShareDoc Reports, law firms can quickly ensure that their timekeeper information is correct prior to submitting an invoice.
- Valid Matters - The valid matters report gives law firms the ability to verify that their matter information is correct in the corporate client's system and ready for e-invoicing.
The implementation process for ShareDoc Reports requires a minimal time commitment from corporate legal departments who use AIMS. The legal departments determine what AIMS data to share with their outside counsel. From there, DataCert can quickly reconcile the authorized information exchange from AIMS to ShareDoc Reports. The resulting automation of communications helps both corporate legal departments and their law firms share information while saving time.
