> CLD
Corporate Legal Desktop (CLD) is the DataCert legal operations management
solution that unites best-of-breed matter management and legal and IP spend management into a
powerful, fully-integrated application.
CLD provides a comprehensive view of the relationships between costs, financial
and business risks, legal department workload, outside counsel use, and matter status, while reducing the
time attorneys spend on administrative tasks. With CLD, the corporate legal department spends more time
practicing law and gains the tools and insight to control legal spend, mitigate corporate risk, and more
effectively and strategically serve business partners and the organization.
What Does CLD Do?
CLD enables corporate legal departments to:
- Get organized with an integrated solution that provides one place to review and approve invoices and track matters and their associated people, events, documents, budgets, and financial data.
- Gain enhanced visibility into risks and trends and make better decisions with business intelligence that combines consistent, real-time data with DataCert thought leadership to deliver comprehensive reporting that addresses the unique needs of corporate legal departments.
- Improve the bottom line and productivity by eliminating paper invoices, streamlining business processes, facilitating collaboration with outside counsel, and automating the enforcement of billing guidelines and the routing and approval of invoices.
- Enhance communication among even the most widespread legal team and successfully promote the value of the legal department within the organization.
- Meet global business needs by supporting the complexities of multiple currency usage, varied regulatory and tax requirements, and reporting for decentralized business units.
How Does CLD Work?
The diagram below depicts the integrated legal and IP spend and matter management solution. Invoices are securely
submitted by law firms/vendors/agents, flow through the automated audit and compliance engine and invoice review
and approval process, and then post to the accounts payable or other back-end systems. Within CLD, the legal
department manages and tracks matters and their associated organizations, people, events, and budgets.
Timekeeper, budget, and accruals collaboration features streamline the exchange of data with outside counsel,
while reporting tools facilitate comprehensive analysis of matters and financials.
