> Automated Rules Engine
Guide is the DataCert automated rules and compliance engine that enables
corporate legal departments to streamline the invoice review process,
improve the bottom line and take control of their legal operations.
Guide works hand-in-hand with AIMS and CLD to automate time-consuming
invoice review activities using customer-defined business rules. This
ability to automatically and consistently enforce outside counsel
guidelines drives significant cost savings while freeing the legal
department to spend more time practicing law.
How it Works
Guide is installed on the AIMS/CLD server and performs an automated review
of invoices in the system. The engine applies rules, takes action on
invoices (e.g., adjusts an expense to the correct rate), warns invoice
approvers of specific rule violations, and generates alerts (such as a
notification of invoice approval). Guide rules are highly flexible and
can be customized to meet specific customer needs.
With Guide, corporate legal departments can achieve optimal
business value with rules that automatically perform functions such as:
- Enforcing bulk discount agreements
- Enforcing fast pay agreements
- Enforcing timekeeper rates
- Enforcing fixed fee agreements
- Enforcing invoice validation rules across multiple or historical invoices
- Adjusting fee or expense items to the correct rate
- Adjusting violating fee or expense items to zero
- Warning the invoice reviewer when vendors have submitted invoices against a matter that does not have an approved budget
- Warning the invoice reviewer when matters are over budget or are within some percentage or dollar amount of being over budget
DataCert is committed to accelerating the time-to-value
of our customers' technology investments. DataCert experts not only help
corporate legal departments use Guide to automate and streamline their
existing business rules and processes, but also share and help implement
best practices from our extensive experience with some of the world's
most demanding legal departments.
