DataCert's security measures are unmatched by the competition when it comes to controlling legal spend. DataCert not only uses the highest levels of encryption available, but all transactions require digital authentication. To minimize security risks, DataCert's application forces a corporate client to "retrieve" waiting documents from behind the corporate firewall through a secure "trusted server" resource using X.509 authentication, secure sockets layer (SSL) communications and public key infrastructure (PKI) encryption. DataCert provides the submitting firms a robust and easy-to-use Web-based tool to upload invoice data from their time and billing applications using an Internet connection. Each submitting firm must be an authenticated subscriber to use this service. Hosting of this service is provided at a secure, offsite hosting vendor with extensive monitoring and protective services.
 
The diagram below depicts both an ASP model and the DataCert model. ASPs that house matter, invoice and access control information outside of the corporate firewall simply cannot offer the same degree of corporate financial compliance, invoice authorization tracking and audit control as those managed at the corporation. With an ASP model, confidential legal data is permanently available and potentially accessible by multiple outside users, including law firms, administrators, corporate employees or hackers. The DataCert model, however, ensures that you always control access to your invoice data. Moreover, your invoice data is encrypted and held securely behind your corporate firewall.
